Cheah Ham Cheia
GROUP MANAGING DIRECTOR
Cheah Ham Cheia, a Malaysian aged 67, is the Managing Director of the GDB Group and has, over his stellar career, amassed close to four decades of experience, especially in the construction industry. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom in July 1985.
Starting from 1977, Cheah has enjoyed successful stints in a number of established regional construction companies, such as Mitsui Construction Co Ltd (rising from Supervisor to Chief Engineer) and Putra Perdana Construction Sdn Bhd (rising from Assistant General Manager to Group Chief Executive Officer). His career has seen him undertake projects in Singapore, Sri Lanka, Sarawak, Bangladesh and all across Malaysia.
His notable projects with Mitsui included the Electrolux Factory Project in Shah Alam and the construction of interchanges along Jalan Pahang, Bulatan Kampung Panda, Jalan Cheras and Bulatan Edinburgh. His notable projects at Putra Perdana include The Intermark in Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak Energy Berhad Headquarters in Kuching, Light Rail Transit Infrastructure Works in Putrajaya, Government Administrative Offices in Putrajaya (namely Parcel C and Parcel D) and Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, among others.
Alexander Lo Tzone Leong
GROUP EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Alexander Lo Tzone Leong, a Malaysian aged 51, is the Executive Director of the GDB Group and is backed by more than 27 years of valued experience across the construction industry. He is a member of the Risk Management Committee and also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Building (“FCIOB”).
Alex graduated with a Certificate in Technology (Building) from Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia in May 1992 and has served the construction industry in various capacities during the last three decades. He has most notably held the position of Chief Operating Officer for Putra Perdana Construction Sdn Bhd (formerly Kamunting Construction Sdn Bhd), where he was responsible for all daily operations of the company.
Some of his key career projects include Bangsar Shopping Complex, Ampang Flamingo Hotel, Ampang Commercial Complex, Wisma John Hancock in Damansara Heights, Felda Tower Platinum Park, The Intermark in Kuala Lumpur, Menara PJH in Putrajaya, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and Pavilion Residence in Kuala Lumpur, the Maritime Centre in Putrajaya, The Z Residence, Breezeway Condominium Project and Ara Green Wellness & Healthcare City in Kuala Lumpur, amongst many others.
CHEAH JUN KAI
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Cheah Jun Kai, a Malaysian aged 36, is our Executive Director and the Senior Manager for the Finance, Risk Management and Business Development divisions. He was appointed to the GDB Group’s Board on 28 February 2013.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom in July 2011. He started his career as a Management Trainee at AmInvestment Bank Berhad before joining WorleyParsons Business Service Sdn Bhd., and worked his way up to become the company’s Senior Business Analyst.
At WorleyParsons, he gained valuable expertise and established responsibility from the general ledger stream of the company, being responsible for month-end financial reporting, profit-loss fluctuation analysis and balance sheet accounts as well as the account payable stream of the company by developing, managing and monitoring key performance indexes and developing key controls upon high risk functions. He is the son of Mr. Cheah Ham Cheia, the Group Managing Director of GDB.
FRANK GOH ENG NGAI
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Frank Goh, a Malaysian aged 61, is the Executive Director of GDB Geotechnics Sdn Bhd and possesses more than three decades of experience in the construction, development and geotechnical industry. He is the former General Manager of Sunway Geotechnics (M) Sdn Bhd.
Frank received his BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the Queen’s University at Kingston, Canada in 1985 and the vast expertise he has accrued has made him highly respected as a foremost geotechnical expert across Malaysia as well as in Singapore.
Some of the key projects that he has completed or managed in some capacity include Kuala Lumpur Islamic Hospital, Menara Taipan Star, Grand Hyatt Hotel, Singapore Telecommunications Center III, Seasons Hotel, Sunway Tower, Sunway Velocity as well as major infrastructure projects like the MRT and LRT.

SAM SIEW KIANG
Asst General Manager
Sam Siew Kiang, a Malaysian aged 58, is the Assistant General Manager for GDB Geotechnics Sdn. Bhd. and is responsible for the Tender and Contracts department. He graduated from Universiti Sains Malaysia in August 1990 with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Housing, Building and Planning.
He is equipped with more than 29 years of experience from within the construction industry. From year 1995 to 2017, he held various positions at Putra Perdana Construction Sdn. Bhd., culminating in his promotion to Assistant General Manager. In April 2018, he joined Econpile (M) Sdn. Bhd. as a General Manager and was responsible for overseeing the post contract duties for various construction projects.
Some of the key past projects he was involved in include Flamingo Hotel, Parcel C and Parcel E1 & E45 of the Government Administrative Offices in Putrajaya, Pavilion Service Apartment, Menara PJH in Putrajaya and the Ara Green Wellness and Healthcare City.
Izhan Goh Abdullah
Asst General Manager
Izhan Goh Abdullah is the Assistant General Manager of GDB Geotechnics Sdn Bhd and possesses 25 years of experience in construction, development and management. He received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1985 from the University of North Dakota before completing his Master of Business Administration in 1987 from the University of South Dakota.
He was previously a Senior General Manager at UM Land Bhd and was the Director of MIG Group Sdn Bhd as well as the Property Director at Quill Construction Sdn Bhd. He has vast experience in construction and township development across Malaysia.
Some of his key projects include Somerset Puteri Harbour and The Waves Puteri Harbour at Bandar Nusajaya, Medini Lakeside at Medini Iskandar, Raffles International College in Johor, Pegasus International School and various other township and mixed development in Negeri Sembilan and Johor.
